3. Jesse On the Hunt

Jesse Miles stalks Lower Wacker Drive, not knowing what he's hunting for, but sensing it's down here somewhere amongst the tent cities of the homeless, the subterranean neighborhoods of the lost and abandoned.

The fiend last night had warned him, taunted him with a prediction of grander, more diabolical horrors to come. In so doing, it had given him a clue. The “underground city" was rising, it said, and soon the fallen would “reclaim the stolen paradise.” Then the beast lost its grip on this plane, and Jesse pitched him back down into the fires.

There's a portal down here, Jesse realizes – similar to the one last night. He senses it.

Just as clearly as he senses that he, the stalker, is now being stalked...
